Description
A status effect that completely immobilizes you for a certain amount of time. Upon beingparalyzed, a hunter will fall down on their face (or remain motionless in an arched position underwater) and yellow sparks of lightning will be seen passing through their body. The duration of paralysis can be increased, decreased, or negated altogether with an appropriate skill. There is nothing a hunter can do but to wait for the paralysis to wear off or for certain attacks to send them flying. This status effect had been previously known as "Stun" in the early Monster Hunter games, but has recently been referred to as "Paralysis" to better differentiate it from the ailment caused by Flash Bombs and hammer attacks.

Description
Some monsters have the potential to put hunters to sleep. It is similar to paralysis in that it leaves the player unable to do anything. However, damage taken when asleep is greatly increased and will end the status after one hit. The duration of sleep can be increased, decreased, or negated altogether with an appropriate skill. In MH3, P3rd and 3G, you do not immediately fall asleep when sleep is inflicted. Instead, the hunter will become drowsy allowing an Energy Drink to be used if the player is fast enough, negating the effect before passing out.

StatusEffect-KO
(MH3)
NameStun / 気絶
Appeared inMHF2MHFUMH3MHP3MH3GMHFO
Description
Occurs when a player takes many hits in a short period of time. When stunned/knocked out, you will become unable to move and swirling stars are seen above the character's head. All monsters can inflict stun by means of repeated physical attacks, but some monsters can inflict it immediately by emitting an extremely bright flash of light or another special technique. When a monster is inflicted with it by use of a Flash Bomb, it attacks randomly until the effect wears off and if inflicted by repeated hammer attacks, the monster stays down for some time. The duration of the stun can be increased, decreased, or negated altogether with an appropriate skill. By rotating the analog stick used for movement in a circular motion and tapping the evasion button, the player can snap out of it much faster.
RemedyRepeatedly rotate the left analog stick and tap X (PSP) or A (Wii), either shake the Wii Remote or Nunchuck rapidly

MH3G-Status Effect BracchidiosNameSlimeblight / 爆破やられ
Appeared inMH3G
Description
This ailment will cover the hunter in slime. Movement isn't hindered, but hunters affected by slime suffer a damaging explosion if struck by a monster, or if the slime isn't rid of quickly by rolling a few times. Even blocked attacks can inflict this status. When affected, all blocking attempts will also fail so it is advised to pay attention to the status icons next to the hunter's name.

When used against monsters, different colored slime effects will signify how many more hits are needed to trigger an explosion. When the slime explodes, a fixed amount of damage is caused, oftentimes staggering the monster. Of note is that this effect is not affected by Status Attack Up, but instead the Bombardier armor skill.

Size

Size is the term used to dictate how big or small a monster is. The new size scale was first incorporated into Monster Hunter Freedom, where, in the hunter's card, shows the smallest and largest size of all the monsters they defeated. If they are of great size, a small crown will be placed next to the name of the monster in the hunter's card; depending on its size, largest monsters will receive gold crowns, while large monsters will receive silver crowns.
Subspecies are not included in this list. This however, changes in Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, where each subspecies has their own list.
Some monsters vary in size from quest to quest. This list goes according to the sizes most frequently observed.

Monsters smaller than humans.
